Latest Events Relating to Science

Here you will find events relating to science that have taken place lately; recent ones which are still ongoing as well as those imminent ones. Science events include science exhibitions, science examinations (usually comes with tips and hints) and interesting science events such as science talks, science cafes. These are usually local events.

Preparatory Courses for Next Year Sec 1 and 3 Students

For students who are going to Sec 1 and 3 next year, these courses are suitable for you. For Pri 6 students going to Sec 1 next year, these courses will introduce to you the topics in secondary school sciences and maths; how are the topics relate to those you learn in primary schools; the important points and common types of questions from each topic. Similarly for students going from Sec 2 to 3, you will get a brief introduction of the topics in O’level sciences and maths; for the same topics, you will see how detailed they are compared to lower sec science and maths; and you will get to know the common questions involve including those from the O’level exams. After which, you will be taught the 1st or 2nd topics of each science or maths in details. For more information, download the flyers below.

Beam’s Timetable for 2010

This shows the existing and new classes in 2010. These classes will officially be starting after 16 November 2009. Students are, however, able to start earlier than 16 November if they want to. Kindly note that the timetable is subjected to adjustments. If there are, you will be informed under ‘Latest’ on the homepage each time the latest timetable is uploaded. Nevertheless, if the class already has students, the timing will usually be fixed, unless all the students agree to the timing adjustments. Download the timetable for 2010 here.

Beam the Science’s Maths/Science Tuition Corner has Officially Opened!

It will be opened within the time frame stated above. There is no registration fees! Introduce to you a new scheme of recommending students to my place. This is a commission scheme whereby if you recommend a student to my place for tuition for at least 4 lessons, you can get some commission or discount (where offsetting of commission occurs), with amount depending on the level of the student. Details are as below.

Recommend one sec 1/2 student: Get $20 commission per student

Recommend one sec 3/4/5 student: Get $30 commission per student

Recommend one JC 1/2 student: Get $50 commission per student

*Kindly note that if you are a parent who recommends a student to my place, the student should not be your own child.

A Science / Maths Tuition Corner in Hougang is Opening!

A tuition corner among HDB estate of Hougang Ave 8 is opening on 1 Feb 2009. It is at block 437, #B1-1521. Here is a tuition place where you can learn important science and maths concepts required by MOE syllabus and practice problem solving from Ten Year Series, assessment books as well as school prelim papers, in a cosy home-like environment. I have just completed working on the scripts for science centre. However, maybe to your disappointment, the scripts cannot be uploaded yet, because this exhibition is imminent in the science centre. It will only be uploaded when it is over.
